Design Process

My goal is to create beautiful, custom, high-quality design that meets the expectations of my clients. I am here to visually interpret the aesthetic you dream of whether it is for a custom monogram, wedding stationery, other paper goods, or another design project. It is so important to me to build a strong relationship with my clients so that we can work seamlessly together during the entire design process. My custom monograms currently cost $200 for 1 Letter, $325 for 2-3 Letters, and $350 for 4 Letters (any other combination or quantity will require a custom quote).

The design process for a monogram normally takes about 4-6 weeks.

All my monograms are drawn by hand with pencil and paper (and lots and lots of tracing paper). The extremely detailed nature of the work and my devotion to making them as close to perfect as possible is why the monogram process takes a bit of time.

The first round designs include three unique pencil sketches, each with a different look and feel. From the first round we make any necessary or desired changes while still working in pencil. Once we are ready and the pencil sketch looks good, I create a vectorized digital monogram for you to own and use as you see fit. In the end I send you a vector ai and pdf for most print and specialized applications, as well as a jpg and png for web. The monograms are provided to you in black and white, but we can add color for an additional fee if necessary. We can also discuss pricing options for added details, elements and flourishes. 

We are always happy to help you use your monogram on our custom stationery, business cards, wedding invitations and other keepsakes after the design process is complete.

The heart and soul of Chena Design is custom, hand-drawn monograms. However, I also take on a limited number of custom stationery and invitation design jobs throughout the year.  I love creating designs that are completely tailored towards the individuals I work with. We will work together from beginning to end to develop a look and feel for your special event, wedding or big announcement. I am extremely inspired by you, and start each project by getting to know you and what you are looking for. After we discuss all the details, including budget, I will develop a project estimate which I will send over to you for approval. Once approved and a deposit is received, we will start the design process. If you are interested in custom design, please send me an email with the details of the wedding, event, or project and what you want to be designed. Custom wedding invitation design starts at $1000 and other invitations start at $350 and take at least 5 weeks to complete.

“The world is your oyster” or in this case your design is! I can help you design and produce almost anything your heart imagines. Prices will vary depending on paper, printing, envelopes, number of pieces and lots more. But we can always find something beautiful that will work within your price range. I currently offer digital, offset, thermography (raised), letterpress or foil printing, as well as a variety of papers and envelopes in numerous colors and finishes. Plus, if I don’t offer exactly what you are looking for, I am willing to find it for you! We don’t call it custom for nothing. 

Good custom design takes time. The time frame varies depending on the scope of the project. However, a rough estimate is anywhere from 5 to 12 weeks. Once we establish an action plan, I can give you a better estimate of time.
